Okaloosa Island Beach Day

Dotted between the vacation rentals and hotels on Okaloosa Island are seven additional beach access points. All offer parking as well as seasonal lifeguards. While picnic areas and restrooms are available, that’s all you will find here at these laid-back, simple boardwalks. Pack your cooler and a bag of snacks. Once you’ve settled into your spot, you won’t want to leave.

John Beasley Park

John Beasley Park offers access to the beautiful white sandy beaches and emerald waters that our area has become known for. The park offers 2 pavilions, swimming, fishing, boardwalk access to the beach and restrooms. It also offers guest 200 parking spaces and 8 handicap parking spaces.

Waterfront Park and Waterfront Dog Park

The Liza Jackson Park is situated along the Santa Rosa Sound. It is operated by the City of Fort Walton Beach. Over a 100 parking spaces, a fishing pier and a boat launch are available. Launch fees and fishing regulations/licenses may apply. No lifeguards are present. Onsite amenities include a picnic area, covered pavilions, restrooms and a playground.

Crab Island

Crab Island isn’t an actual island – it’s a submerged sand bar next to the Destin Bridge. Because of its festive atmosphere and crystal-clear waters, Crab Island is a popular destination for boaters, tourists, and locals alike.
